Good to have you here in the community.
You probably would want to make the Status field an unstored calculation field. But forewarned that unstored calculations require recalculation every time displayed and can slow down performance. That aside, the calculation should be:
Let ( [
Today = Get ( CurrentDate ) ;
Exp = Expiration ;
Sub= Subscription ;
Result = If ( Exp < Today ; "Active" ; "Inactive" )
Feel free to put the calc in the Data Viewer to test things out.
Note well that if you don't make this an unstored calculation, it will only perform the calculation once when you create the record and will just be using the date the record was created and will not update each day in the future. Hence the reason for being unstored.
PS: You don't have to use a Let statement, it just helps with trouble shooting in the Data Viewer. You could just do If ( Expiration Field < Get ( CurrentDate ) ; "Active" ; "Inactive" )
Thank you for this!
I'm having a little trouble knowing where to put this formula thought.
Can you help me out with the Expiration field?
(I don't have that many subscribers so the recalculation for the status shouldn't be to demanding.)
Great link but i always had a hard time learning by just reading.
I've been surfing video tutorials from here and from youtube to learn what i needed.
I'll definitly try to go trought it tho.
Thanks again for this!
Just had time tonight to try it out and it was exactly what i needed.
