Has anyone started getting strange error messages from AVG on FMS14?

    john@alphaadv.net

      Hello,

At one site two users got this morning:

      AVG Content Filter

      Blocked Site: FileMaker.com

      Override Site FileMaker.com

Reason for Block: Mature Content R Rated Tech

FileMaker.com can and will be whitelisted but this seems like a strange error message.

      Thank you.

Your title does not match your post.    Are you having issue with FMS14 or with Filemaker.com.     I could see a web filter putting up a warning for the forum because it is a open public forum and anything could be posted.  Until FMI takes it down.   The old forum was being hacked daily with garbage being posted. No issues with the new forum / community, except for some miner post from some users.

            Sorry for the confusion.

AVG is running on the server, but the error messages were on the workstations running FMP14.

The real error appears to be from AVG when FPM14 is communicating with FileMaker.com and is displayed on the workstation.

Still appears it has nothing to do with FMS14 or FMP14.   AVG is posting a message about filemaker.com.  Anti-virus / Internet security software maintain databases of websites.  The message from your post stated that filemaker.com is rated R, which I would agree with because of the forum.   The forum is open to the public where anyone could post any comment.  Yes, FMI monitors post and remove post that do not follow FMI standers, but these post could be read by users before FMI has a chance to remove.   A non-appropriate post could last a few hours over the weekend because of FMI being closed.   FMI does a great job monitor the forum.

Just as an added note - it is recommend to remove your database from virus scans.   The antivirus software should not attempt to open your database while FMS / FMP has the file open, it can lead to file corruption.
