I never got that to work, but I too would be interested in it. If that did work, you could likely use the same method to move the files to a cloud provided NAS drive as well (azure file storage or s3 with a program that maps it as a drive)
I have made every effort to make this work and every answer I have found and everything I have done points to the fact that it cannot be done.
I also have to assume that at least one part of FM help files is incorrect - right at the bottom of the attached screen shot.

It is a NO.
Remote container files are just like regular live hosted FM files and you can't put those on a network share either. Even if it was allowed it would be slow and fragile, nowhere near as stable as using the solid disk i/o so not something you'd want to do.
NASes have been marked as no-no's for live FM hosting since forever. Not to be confused with SANs.
