Would an open URL work on a file shared remotely? This is an area where my expertise fails me.

If you could look at the attached script and tell me where I've run astray, that would be most helpful. I can tell you
that the $$Dir2 variable contains the relevant path and filename (I can see it in the dataviewer).
But when it gets to Open URL, it opens Chrome and gives me a blank page....which is why I have had a hard time
"wrapping my head around" using Open URL to open a database within Filemaker.

Also, you don't need global $$variables, you can use $Dir, etc. instead. And you may need to add a slash to your directory name.

Anyway, you need script defined in the another file, selecting window doesn't make following steps run on the window which belong to another file.
