Yesterday I updated user licences on FM Server 15, now the databases show as closed and there are no connections shown although the DBs are open and can be logged onto remotely.
Any one had this?
Sometimes the Admin console "freezes" and database statuses stop updating. I solved this problem by restarting the admin server using command line (simply type fmsadmin restart adminserver) and then deleting the cache/history of my browser.
Hope this helps!
Did you have Privilege Set for fmapp enabled?
Yes, across all users. As I say the databases are accessible over the network, everyone can work, I can get remote access from my network but the databases show as closed with no connections. Everything was working fine until I added new connection licences.
What licens did you update to? If you bought new FLT license and did not have that before you need to confirm to FMS that you have a ok license before you can use your FMP
The licence is for a registered charity and the extra licences are the same
Additional Connections for FileMaker Server
User Connections for EDU/NP Annual License
Not sure what you mean by "need to confirm to FMS" The new licences have been accepted by the server and show in user connections and everything still works apart from reporting open dbs and connections
The server has been restarted.
If file have status closed, can you open it in FMS Admin Console?
That is exactly the point. They cannot be opened and "show" that they are opened, although having opened them, they can be used.
They are “open” bit show “Closed” in the console
That have only happened to me when the actual database did not have the correct permissions. Did you put the file there using Finder or did you use FileMaker Pro to upload the file?
The files were already on the server. The server was working fine and showing the correct status for the DBs and showing how many users were accessing them.
Nothing has changed apart from an update to the number of web direct and Go users.
Very strange. You should check with the person you got your license from, sounds like it is not correct
OK, thanks Chloe. Will give it a go.
Great stuff! not come across this before so many thanks for all who contributed and to Chloe for the cure:)
Always happy to help
