Can you confirm that what your reporting is the following:
Clicking a Non-Active Field in List View will display a dotted bordered for longer than the click is held when "Show field frames when record is active" is unchecked?
It is expected for the Field Frames to display when clicking and holding an active record. The delay may not be expected. I will forward this to Testing and Development for review.
Clicking into a non-active RECORD in List View, but NOT into a field in that record, causes the dotted borders to show up for a seemingly-similar period of time, irrespective of how long the 'click' or 'pressed' event was. But, it's rather short and it's hard to tell if it is matching the period of the 'click'.
If you click and hold the button, the frames show up as long as you are holding it.
If you click into an actual field in the non-active record, the frames do NOT show up.
Yes, 'show field frames...' is not selected.
And as User19752 reported in the other thread it's only the Enterable fields that show the field border. A field that is not-enterable in Browse mode doesn't display the temporary dotted border.
I made a little video I could send you, if you like.
