Have a running serial number field in each table called Key_TableName. Then create a foreign key in the other table and build a relationship between those field and Enable Create records over relationship. Then you can have a portal on that other tables layouts to create records . If you want to connect table you can also create a Value List based on that Key_TableName and your Description field and have that as a connection.
Currently all of the data is in the same table, not two different tables, the only difference is in the data is the source of the data and whether there is a local path referenced. I just want to be able to access (or copy) the folder path in record 1 to record 2 in the same table.
Copy: Set Variable [$$Value ; value: TableOccurrence::Field ]
Paste: Set Field [TableOccurrence::Field ; $$Value ]
Don't use the copy and paste steps as copy destroys any data the user may have copied to the clip board. Use $$ to make the variable global so that you can run one script to "copy" the data and another script to "paste" the data.
But you can also follow the advice posted earlier as you can link records in a table to other records in the same table via a relationship.
Thank you, I was over thinking it a little. I was trying "Insert From Last Visited" but it seems to be more for using as a repetitive stamp, than what I wanted. The "copy/paste" as you suggested worked fine.
