I have developed a database that generates barcode labels for our equipment. It works perfectly on a laptop, but the barcodes won't generate in Filemaker Go. Is there a way to include code 128 barcode font in Filemaker Go?
I also highly recommend Barcode Creator, which works entirely in FM scripts and has very good support for more symbologies.

Hope those help.
I have sorted the barcode generation within FMP and it works excellently from a desktop. When I use the file in Filemaker go the issue is the font is not recognised or supported by Filemaker Go.
I could create an image and store it, but that is 12,000 images .
I can manually create a label in the Leitz Icon app, but it is time consuming to enter all the data (it is 4 fields plus the barcode)
The idea is to be able to generate barcodes from the Filemaker Go database and print on a battery powered Leitz Icon in the field.
I will have a look at the FileMaker Barcode Creator, but was hoping to find a solution myself.
Many thanks for the help.
With container field-based barcode approaches like Barcode Creator, I usually recommend that barcodes only be generated immediately before display/print, and deleted immediately after, as part of a scripted process. This avoids exploding the size of your database with image files that in effect encode data redundant with the rest of the database.
I like that idea, but I guess that could not be done on a standalone Filemaker Go app which is the ultimate aim.
Wonder if you just had a table with a container field and a record for each needed barcode character ( say A-Z ; a-z ; 0-9, etc ) then use Base64 Encode/Decode to concatenate your string to display/print as needed. Then you only need 50 or so stored images, rather than 12,000.
but I guess that could not be done on a standalone Filemaker Go app
Depends on how "stand alone" it needs to be. If you have cell phone access, there are web services to which you can send the text and get back the image to use on demand.

That absolutely can be done in a standalone FileMaker Go app using Barcode Creator or certain webviewer-based techniques. For the last DevCon, I made a display of an iPad in airplane mode continuously making barcodes while another iPad scanned them.
Does Barcode Creator work with no internet connection?
That sounds a good idea, I will have a look and see if I can make that work.
Yes, Barcode Creator works without an Internet connection on local files in FileMaker Go.
We use Barcode Creator. It is fantastic. And doesn't require the fonts...and all the issues that go with it.
