Thank you for your post!
You can definitely install both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions on a 64-bit Operating System. You would just need to launch the corresponding version of the application before processing a RunTime.
The 64-bit will be in C:/Program Files/FileMaker/FileMaker Pro 15
The 32-bit will be in C:/Program Files x86/FileMaker/FileMaker Pro 15
I hope this helps!
Thank you for your reply.
I guess one becomes a bit "daft" when working only on the Mac
Why would I want to produce both versions? Since my app doesn't need to address more than 4gb of RAM, I would think using just the 32 bit would ensure greater compatibility. There's still plenty of 32 bit machines out there in windows world. Just curious if there is a reason to use the 64 bit.
Why would I want to produce both versions?
FMP's architecture needs to be the same as the email program (which is usually Outlook) otherwise FMP hangs on the send mail by client script step.
The default install for Ms Office is 32 bit (so that Excel is compatible with older plugins).
Very helpful. Thank you.
