I think, this is a Windows error "Insufficient Privledges to start service". Do you run it from a different, non-Admin account?

Usually when services don't want to start it is because of unsupported OS or below-minimum hardware specs. Since FMS15 is not supported on Windows 10, this is not too surprising.
Perhaps the Windows event log has more detail (but I doubt it in this case).
Running a VMware instance of Server 2012R2 is probably a better approach if you want to keep it on your laptop.
if it was working well for quite some time, the most interesting question is: What has been changed?

Hi marcm ,
true, Windows 10 is not supported, but that may work. I had it working on Windows 7, and at some point the service would not start. I made a little change that worked for me: if the service is set to Start Automatically, set it to Start Automatically (delayed). This option tells the service to wait for dependencies to start before starting the service.
This is happening to me too. On Friday, FMS stopped working after being installed since last October (FMS 15.0.3 under Windows 7 Professional). I've tried to start manually from "services" but nothing happens. I'll set it to "delayed" to see if I can bring good news.
