Not really credible. Something is not adding up here. Are there multiple files in your system? Are you cloning the right one? Did you delete the clone from your desktop and try again?
We have one database with about 17,000 records in it. Before I enter my user name and password I click on File, Save a Copy, (It then gives me 3 options)
I chose Clone -
I then close out that database, open the cloned one and there is no name for the database, no records or layouts.....

2. You did not answer my question. Did you do EXACTLY what I suggested: go to your desktop; delete any existing clone file. THEN create the clone. Then examine the result. Your statement still is not credible. The clone command does not work as you describe.
