relationship going nowhere GFN(field)

I am interested in incorporating a "get field name", GFN(Field), custom function in my sql request.

I'm creating a relationship to nowhere to obtain the field names for executesql(). i.e myTable::timestampModified = userPreferences::primaryKey.

I really do not want a relationship at all, is there another way while maintaining flexibility?

Is this 0 record solution lessening the load of an added table occurrence AND/OR is it less impactful when switching between records and layouts?

Is a populated relationship roughly the same load, only loading a single related record as shown in the data viewer. A portal requiring more?

Thanks in advance.
