I wanna count how many records including the words starting from "Pending"?
"I wanna show pending order in realtime, I don't have a related table, is ExecuteSQL is best choice?"
You can can set up a related table OCCURRENCE in a self join quite easily and use it to get your count. Assuming that it is always "pending" that you need to count, you wouldn't even need a filtered portal to do so.
Define two calculation fields.
left (OrderNumb; 7)
set up your new occurrence of your table and link constPending to StartsWith.
You can then use count (orders 2::orderNumb)
to count all pending reclords.
Is that data from four separate records? If so, there is more than one way to do that.
Perform a find and use get (foundCount) to count the records.
Use a filtered portal and a summary field.
I wanna show pending order in realtime, I don't have a related table, is ExecuteSQL is best choice?
I never learned SQL language before, could you show me the script for this sample? Thank you!
To learn SQL, which is completely necessary in just about every database environment I've ever used (FMP's QBE being the only exception I know of), I would start here:
HOPE THIS HELPS.
and because ExecuteSQL is not everything like other SQLs...
