I have several mail address fields that I use to populate a Word 2010 and Word 2016 for Windows and Word 2011 and Word 2015 on the Mac. The address is a calculation field that is:
Name & Char (13) & Address & Char (13) & CityStateZip.
That address field is merged into the Word document using ScribeDocSubstitute script step from the 360Works Scribe plug-in. This works as expected on the Mac side:
City State Zip
On most, but not all Windows systems, the break is ignored. The result is a string that breaks only if the field reaches the page margin: Name Address City State Zip.
I have tried other methods to get the fields to break; using the Pilcrow or line feed Char (10). Those also worked on Mac clients but not Windows.
This problem is not new. There are several unanswered posts on the 360Works forums with the same problem. I posted last week and there not been any response to the question.
Short of merging each field separately does anyone have an idea of why the carriage return is ignored or how to solve the problem?
