i'm developing a database to which i now added some self-joining relations (in detail these are 60 relations, what may seem to be much, but i need them for my solution). since adding the relations, the performance of the database has dramatically slowed down when i change a record (doesn't matter if i make the change manually or with a script.) The other functions like searching or browsing through records work still well with good performance. the relation-fields are based on fully indexed formulas. the table has over 600 fields from which about 3/4 are formula-fields (most of them fully indexed).
is this a general problem of filemaker with self-joining relations, or is there any solution to optimize the performance (for example a special layout to change records, which only contains the necessary fields)?
