Can I change the interface language of the FileMaker Pro application to another language without changing my OS language?
Hi soundmixdude ,
yes you can, the method depends on the OS you use.
On Mac OS:
You need to install Language Switcher (it's free) TJ-HD Software - Language Switcher Works very well.
It is not the OS language, it is the language you select when you install.
You will need to uninstall FileMaker and select a different language when install again. There is no solution to easy switch languages of UI.
I work on FM13 advanced and see when reinstall no option for the preferred language. When switching my OS to another language FM changes too. I remember from my early IT days that an application has multiple language in it's package. So when switching the language the package also switches. A trick in those days was to make the optional languages disabled to it will be forged to use one language. That option I can't find anymore. It's was a finder info option i remember.
That's it, thanks!
Only one hiccup. The Switcher app only shows the applications in the first level of the system application folder. My FM13 app was installed in a subfolder. Solution: Drag the FM app one level up so it's in the root of the application system folder.
That will work from anywhere, just drag the application from where it is, and Language Switcher will add it.
