I wouldn't recommend it. Millions of dollars have gone into making MailChimp a reliable, easy to use, feature-loaded bulk email composing and sending platform.
MailChimp has an amazing REST API, and with FileMaker 16, it's about to get a whole lot easier to integrate it with FileMaker.
For example, with minimal effort you could set up your system so that the subscription status can be displayed next to any email address, buttons to subscribe or unsubscribe, and synchronizing other data such as merge fields, groups, and segmentation.
ditto! If you search 'email' or 'bulk email' with FileMaker, you'll see many recommendations against doing so. Becoming a spammer and getting yourself blocked by your ISP will seriously hamper your ability to send more email, for one!
and with filemaker 15 I must add you can easily integrate mailchimp
Thanks for clarifying and if it's as you say, a smooth integration with Mail Chimp from FM15 then I'll definitely go that route.
Do you know of an easy explanation on the process to set this up from FM15?
