When importing records, you import the found set. All you need do is set up a found set of just the selected record.
Go To Related Records will pull up a found set of the records in the portal. If performed from a button in the portal, row, the portal row where you clicked the button will be the current record. So a script performed from such a button can do a GTRR followed by a few more steps to isolate that record as the only record in the found set and then you can use import records to import it.
Mmm. COMMIT should eliminate the dialogues. I'll try that when I can get back to it.
I see nothing in the script that would bring up a dialog. I would guess that you have layouts set up that do not automatically save data changes?
There's a much simpler way to isolate the current record:
Find Matching Records [ Replace ; YourPrimaryKeyFIeld ]
As long as you have a field that uniquely identifies each record in the table, you just do a find matching records on that one field.
