Do you ever curse modal windows like the Manage Database dialogue, when you're trying to either move things between two solutions or track something within one solution?

You can run multiple instances of Filemaker on a Mac (and probably windows as well). While you may have modal windows restricting access to the rest of your application when open, you can run the same or different solution in a separate instance of Filemaker with access to everything else. Thus moving from modal dialogue or window to another or anywhere else in the program.

Just open the terminal and type:

open -n -a /Applications/ ...insert name of installed filemaker here plus .app/

like for FMP 15 A:

open -n -a /Applications/FileMaker\ Pro\ 15\ Advanced/FileMaker\ Pro\
