FileMaker do not have a link that I am aware of where you download Trial software. They want to keep track of who is downloading there software for many reasons.
You can always create a Runtime of your solution and sent to your client. Then they do not need to have FileMaker installed
Ok, I could prepare a stand-alone or kiosk version that connect to a server, isn't it ?
So all changes on my server are seen by client.
That's because sometimes a client would like to see product, before buy, and is not so happy or he's not able to go on FM web site and download trial version.
If he decide to buy, my company will install the copy and license, to avoid problems.
To have a quick view of your solution that you want your clients to look at I would make a stand alone Runtime (kiosk) that have no connection to any kind of server.
If you are using a Mac and your client is using Windows, as far as I'm aware you can't create a cross-platform runtime. I use a Mac and wanted one for Windows users but couldn't find a way to do it unfortunately.
No there is a unique runtime for Mac and Windows. You need FileMaker Pro Advanced to create Runtime´s

here's the link to the current trial
unfortunately, FileMaker (among other companies as well) wants way too much personal data to get that trial. Many users will hesitate. BTW, this (why so much user data) was discussed earlier
In this country here, there are guidelines for 'what personal data is needed for what' / 'when should one _not_ participate' etc.
One can always enter fake data, though...
