It will appear in the same place as the Server Dev License, but it is a manual process. I'm not sure if they get to new subscribers eventually or if you have to ask. I contacted a moderator through the forum 2 days after I signed up for FDS and then it was taken care of.
1. It is Saturday. They may be at the beach.
2. & The process is not automated.
3. Developer subscription gets you:
FMServer (limited connections for testing only)
FTS - FileMaker Training Series (Advanced)
4. Early notices.
If if you downloaded a trial of FMP, you should have an email with the key.
If if you are speaking of anything other than current versions, you may have to wait until Monday for assistance.
Thanks Beverley, Jason et al
I understand, but a manual process that I have to wait 2 days to solve by ringing FM Support to get a license key.
Are we in the 1990's?
Is FM a software company? Perhaps they could build a custom app to solve this problem ;-)
The keys are normally located at the bottom of the FDS screen. FMI states it may take 24-48 hours for items to show up.
No, but it is the weekend.
This is partially a limitation with the forum software they are using. While their may be a way around it, the management of the keys is initiated manually, even if they have automated the majority of it.
Just keep in mind, this is all handled by a relatively small, but very hard working marketing team at FileMaker, Inc. Typically items from the FDS are not mission critical, so it's hard to dedicate resources to it on the weekends. The person would be sitting there all weekend with nothing to do most of the time. And automating, while the ideal solution, still requires the resources to put to it.
Right now, all resources are focused on DevCon and FileMaker Next development. So automating FDS licenses, would likely fall lower on the list.
Did you try this?
1. click on 'Home' link, upper left hand menu item
2. click on 'access benefits' , lower right side of page, small type...
3. scroll towards bottom of the page that brings you to....
works on my account...
No, there's nothing there but the Server 15 License. Alas, it appears I'll have to wait till Monday ;-(
It all worked fine for me.
