Using just the field level behavior settings, you can have one or the other (go to next field or Perform find), but not both. but OnObjectKeystroke could be used to identify when the enter key (number pad enter, I am assuming) is pressed and which then checks the window mode (get ( WindowMode ) ) to determine whether to perform the find or go to next field.
That seems like a lot of overhead for something that should be simple
If it cant be set, maybe a script that can be written with a find, then pause, then resume on "enter" key maybe?
Use this OnLayoutKeystroke trigger enabled only for Find Mode:
If[Code ( Get ( TriggerKeystroke ) ) = 10 or Code ( Get ( TriggerKeystroke ) ) = 13]
This will execute for a Return or Enter.
That is excellent! 13 is the entry key, what is 10?
Great, thank you! Works smooth with very little overhead!
If a user needs to enter multiple criteria in the find, the Tab key can be used to go from field to field. I do think you might need to do a little training with the end user since you are changing the behavior of the Return/Enter key from browse mode to find mode.
