    Loading Images into Containers

My last question for the night.

This has been an issue for me for a long time.  It exists for FM 11, 14, and 15 clients.

I right click to Load and image into a container.  Or I just drag and drop it.

I small file.  14K will spin for 5 minutes or more before it loads.  Sometime I walk away and return 20 minutes later and it is still spinning so I can to force quit and try again.

The container is set to store externally.

This is when working with remote FM Servers or locally connected.

But it does not happen on all my clients, just a few of them.

The good thing is it does not appear to happening for any of my client themselves so it must be something on my laptop.

Think you problem is network traffic. FM have to save the file through FileMaker Server to your external storage. If your users are using all bandwidth (like stream music/video) then there is not much left for FMS to work with.

How do your store your files externally? Have you divided your hard drive on your FMS or is there a attached hard drive connected to your FMS?
