    Sort & Grand Total


      Ok - almost there...2 of my reports have summary fields.  summarycost and summarysaleprice both from the art table although the report is based on the Event Art table.    I placed a totaling grand summary part on the layout with both fields but it only shows one field summarysaleprice  and that is only the amount from the last record shown.  How do I show the totals from the Event Art/Art/summarycost and summarysaleprice at the end of the report?

          A summary field from a related table will show a value based on the set of related records from the context of a single record in your found set. It won't produce a grand total based on all the records in your found set.


          option 1:

          perhaps you can base your layout on the art table instead of event art.


          Option 2:

          define a calulation field in event art. It can either copy the summary field from art or use a function such as sum to compute the same value. Then add a summary field to event art that totals this calculation field.
