I have a layout, everything looks good in layout mode, but when it is on browse mode the fields remain at the same place but the layout size increases and it has no end.
How can I resolve that.
Try running a script with just 1 step in it, when in browse mode:
Adjust Window [ Resize to Fit ]
It has to have an end. You can't scroll the window horizontally or vertically in an infinite direction. You will reach a limit eventually.
What theme is specified for the layout? Classic?
They layout theme is River touch. Scroll is not working in that layout in browse mode.
Then how do you mean that the "layout size increases and has no end"?
Are you describing what happens when you resize the window?
are you in Form View or List View?
Check out both the pics in browse and layout mode.
So you see this when you resize the window?
I often design iOS layouts to work this way.
I put an object in the bottom right corner of the body and set bottom and right anchors instead of top and left. I then use hide object when to make the object always invisible in Browse mode. It causes the layout to expand to whatever size the window takes.
That works but the window size shrinks right, I would have to increase the size again when i change to a bigger layout
garry107, I believe siplus is suggesting putting that into EVERY layout that needs to 'resize' when you go to it. You can add it to script that go to the layout (after getting there) or use Script triggers on those layouts that need to resize.
Basically this layout for adding a task from a project database. So when I click on Add task button it redirects me to this layout. SO whenever I am redirected here The layout extends. But when in layout edit mode, it looks good.
Yeah i did that for now, but I wanted to know why that is happening. @beverly
In layout mode and browse mode.
I see you're on Windows. I would wait for the next Filemaker version before wide-spreading OnLayoutEnter triggers etc, because
FileMaker Product Roadmap
— Ability to create a window that allows users to open other windows or files without having to first close the card.
New FileMaker Pro interface on Windows OS — Supports Single Document Interface (SDI) on the Windows platform instead of Multiple Document Interface. With SDI, all document windows are independent of each other.
in the meantime, reading a good book about Filemaker, like this one, would shape different your questions on the forum.
