I have FP 11. In Form View, I'd like the first column down, not a data column, to put the rows in numbered sequence...e.g., from 1 down to the last record entry across...so that I can actually see what number each row is. Is this possible?
Put this layout text into that column:
that text will be replaced with the record number when you view the layout after you leave layout mode.
Thank you. I couldn't insert the two @ symbols. Attached is a screenshot of a portion of the file. The top line are the titles for each column. I wanted to insert the numbering system in the black box down, next to the date column.

This does what the @@ used to do.
Keep in mind the number changes for any given record as the found count and sort order changes.
If you are in Table View (as it appears), then the merge symbol may not appear.
Tell us if you need a serial number that "sticks" to the record.
