    Truly a simple question

    NickiGarrett

      For the life of me I cannot figure out why this simplest thing is not working

      I have a numeric field based on a caluclation of another field

      If (field A) = x, "1" If (field A) = y, "2"

      Then conditional formatting

      if field B = 1, then fill = (blue)

      if field B = 2, then fill = (yellow)

      then I am placing the field B behind field A

      result is nothing

          B =

          Case ( field A = x ; 1

               field a = y ; 2 )

          then your conditional should work

          should you want "If()":

          If ( field A = x ; 1 ;

               If ( field A = y ; 2 ) )

          this is nested Ifs, but the Case is cleaner to error check.

            It might be that you have too much nested stuff in there.

            Why don't you just cond format the field A based upon itself ?

            conditional format for A -> 2 conditions

            A = FirstCondition; Fill =  blue

            A = SecondCondition, Fill = yellow

            -----

            post your file and we'll fix it.
