You can NAME your windows and put "focus" on them (by name).
start here on script steps for windows:
"Set Window Title" - Changes the title of a window.
"Select Window" - Specifies a window by name and makes it the foreground window.
in addition this function may be helpful:
"WindowNames" - Returns a list of the names of windows that are currently open.
What is the reason for multiple windows?
There may be good reasons.
But your question makes me wonder whether you are aware you can navigate between layouts in a single window.
I agree win Bruce. Unless there are good reasons (and there can be, of course) to have more than one window open I avoid this as it is one less area of complexity to manage.
Thank you all for the helpful comments. I'm trying to transfer a large database (for me at least) from Hypercard to Filemaker, in which I jumped around multiple stacks (tables in Filemaker) open at once, putting links between them and new information arose. So I need to jump around between tables to see which record to link to which. Hypercard lets you produce a button on a record and then move around the stacks until you find a place to link it.
The stacks (tables) concerned matters scientific and medical, and the most interesting bits of information were the unexpected ones, which would be totally impossible to plan for. Example -- the missing compounds in narcolepsy (the orexins) have a lot to do with feeding behavior. Example -- 20+ hormones (adipokines) released by adipose tissue, totally unsuspected in the past.
Understandable that you wish to keep your "flow" similar to HyperCard! Think through this a little more and others may present you with altenatives that will work a little better?
