FileMaker 15 hangs when opening remote file. The problem appears to be related to file authentication: after entering the username and password, the program hangs for 4-5 minutes before displaying the expected layout, running scripts, etc.
FileMaker Pro 15
FileMaker Pro Advanced 15
macOS 10.12.4 (Sierra)
Symptoms began with upgrade from MacOS X 10.11 to 10.12.
Occurs for all remote databases, whether hosted by FMS or by FileMaker Pro
Re-authenticating (changing users, or managing security) incurs another 4-5 minute wait.
Other workstations running macOS 10.12 are not affected.
I have found only one forum comment reporting this same symptom occurring with the Sierra upgrade. That user reported that turning off FileVault alleviated the problem. Since I've never had FileVault enabled (and still don't), there must be something else going on. I have re-installed the FileMaker clients after removing /Library/Application Support/FileMaker to ensure no vestiges of earlier installations remained. All OS and FileMaker updates have been applied.
I can't help thinking that I'm missing something rather basic, but I'm stumped.
