Perhaps you should use landscape orientation. And you can use print setup to specify both page size and orientation.
To adjust your layout, you first select those options while in layout mode so that the page break line is placed in the right spot. Then use print setup the same way just before you do a save as PDF in a script.
I tried that with an on-load(and the script that goes to the page) script, but the settings do not save.
Are you using the Print Setup script step correctly? These settings are saved within and then reapplied by this step.
Pretty sure. I tried using it in another app that needed a paper to print on both sides- but didn't work.
This has always worked for me:
Print setup [restore]
Save as PDF
Mine looks like that, but has the extra "dialog:off" after "restore"; and "save records as PDF". In the script, it looks like the settings saves, but the PDF is still in portrait view.
OR, it is in landscape but still doesn't have enough room?
I just went with shrinking the text to the pure minimum I could (size 7) . It is going to hurt to read, but I need all the information :/ (The last column has several letters that cut off)
Enter layout mode
Select "page breaks" from the view menu
Open Print set up and select landscape orientation
WHere do you now see the vertical page break line?
If you still can't get this to work, test this on a different layout. I've seen cases where problems with printer settings seem to lie as a problem with a specific layout. Replacing the layout with a new one then fixed the issue. (And I think recovering the file--perhaps just the "Delete cached settings" advanced option, sometimes fixes that issue...)
