On ver16, OSX10.12.4,
CSS transition effect(web viewer) doesn’t work when opening the file by ‘Open Recent’.
Does anyone know why this happens?
I attached the movie and the test file.
what might be cached with the 'open recent'? is that a necessity or can you just avoid it? does it fail with 'open favorite', too?
I can replicate, but transition failed even when first opened and also later when opened just with double-click the file.
I was looking for any Reload, Refresh, clear cache tricks with no avail.
I created 1 New Record and copy/pasted code from origin record to new record: Transition works once. Keep on mind that I have 2 similar records now *)
For any freaking reason, the 'Open Recent' function is greyed out now either when just closing file and try to re-open with 'Open Recent' OR when quit FMPA16 and start again.
*) At this stage, transition always fails with 1. attempt. Go to next record: Transition works.
Seem to be related to any caching/indexing behaviour. Only work around I found so far is a script
set Var [$code ; Test::code]
set Field [Test::code ; $code]
mmh, yeah: Toggling from Browse- to Layout-Mode and back also resets this behaviour

The one who ought to know. Let's kindly ask apaulsen
Andrew, any idea what happens here 'Under the Hood'?
Thanks for advice. I tried opening by favorites.
But it doesn’t also work, too.
Thanks for testing!
When FileMaker already opens, it doesn’t work even using by double-click.
And when opening this file by other file’s script, it doesn’ work too.
Please be aware that FM16 switches to WebKit 2.x instead of WebKit 1.x in FM15.
This change has a lot of side effects as you have a different browser engine there!
Would you know the impact/differences with Webkit 2.x regarding loading and caching?
Thanks for your advice.
I know FM16 switches to Webkit2.
But CSS 'transition' is the very basic property, so I can't believe it doesn't work on specific situations.
I think it's a bug to fix, the web viewer of ver16 is not tuned enough.
What do you think?
