There are issues between 32bit and 64bit installs of Filemaker with Outlook - iirc you need the 32bit install to integrate with Outlook.
We have a problem with sending e-mails from FileMaker Version 15 with Outlook 2013 and 2016.
When a script opens Outlook for sending an e-mail, we click to send the e-mail, but the e-mail will mostly be stuck in the Outbox.
Also, sometimes the e-mail is sent but is still sitting in the Outbox and not visible in the sent items folder.
We use a Hosted Exchange solution and we also tried to cache the e-mails, but with no luck.
Does anybody have a solution for this?
We also tried to open the Outlook before we send the e-mail, but this also sometimes works and sometimes don't.
Here is a bit more explanation as to why this is...
I've experienced this when outlook is closed. If its open I've had no problems with it sending emails straight away.
Have you tried using the SMTP dialog in FMP for sending email instead?
You could switch to MBS FileMaker Plug-in for sending emails.
Using SMTP via CURL functions. Check SendMail functions to build email with/without HTML, multiple attachments and properly encoded names & texts. Tutorial: Sending emails in FileMaker with MBS Plugin
Or if you like to send via Outlook, please check our new SendMail functions in upcoming 7.2 plugin (currently beta). They can send via Outlook, Thunderbird or other MAPI clients, independent of 32/64bit issues and with a few more options. see Send emails via Outlook
I have a 32bit FileMaker, a 32bit Outlook and a 64bit Windows operating system.
If I check this on the FileMaker website, this should not be a problem.
Thanks for the info.
I could try to use the SMTP, but then my customer would not know if the e-mail is successfully sent.
With kind regards.
