First off, update your FMS to latest version 3. Then in settings for show your container data, what is your setup?
March, April and May are our peak business periods, so I don't apply any maintenance releases to the database server during that time unless they are addressing a known problem we are experiencing. I have run the database locally, removing the server from the equation and the same behaviour exists.
The container is set for Interactive content (PDF, MP3, etc), with no automatic playback.
99% of the content is PDF's, loaded via dragging from emails, internally created within FileMaker or populated via a virtual Fax assistant.
