FileMaker 15 is able to present a HTTP Basic Auth dialog box for webviewer's content. But FileMaker 16 Pro just show "HTTP Basic: Access denied" from the browser without presenting any dialog
what settings do you have on the Web Viewer dialog?

Hi beverly, just a normal URL address + some variable from FM data field. For example if one of my field is named "supplier_email", my URL could be like this:
"https://host.com/get_supplier?email=" & DB::Supplier_Email
I think the & is a string concatenation, I can't recall.
Tks a lot TSGal.
Mac or Windows?
maybe I could provide dialog via plugin.
Using Mac . But I am confused why does it need a plugin to do that? Isn't that browser's feature?
do you have some news ? I have the same problem
I have attached your post to the original report. When more information becomes available, I will post again.
You can use MBS FileMaker Plugin with functions like WebView.Passwords.Install and WebView.Passwords.Set.
This way you can on Mac at least preload the password into solution and let the user go on the protected page without seeing the password dialog.
I updated the function today to work on FileMaker 16.
Technically I could also provide some script trigger if needed to ask user for password.
This is certainly not a good practice for security but I think you can include your user and password inside the URL. Your credentials will be sent in clear but I guess it might be a temporary workaround for a Web viewer !? So your URL can look like:
I will try the plugin, it looks quite promising.
Any news on this?
There is no additional information at this time.
Have you some news because it's very important for us
