I have a webviewer that is a protected page which required login. Once I login, the cookie session is not being maintained when I navigated elsewhere.
I am unable to test because I do not have access to a protected web site. Therefore, I have forwarded your post and screen shot to our Development and Testing departments for review. When I receive any feedback, I will let you know.
What are your security settings in Internet Explorer?
Maybe you need to add the page to the trusted page list?
Our Testing department is able to replicate the issue. All information has been sent to Development for further review.
I am using a Mac, so I guess it is using the default Safari rendering engine? It was working fine using FM15.
Any news on this?
I can confirm this issue was not addressed in FileMaker Pro 16.0.2.
Sorry to bother you with reply. Will this issues be fixed and acknowledged.
This issue still exists in the latest release of FM16.
It has been confirmed by testing and acknowledged as sent to development team.
It seems to be something that changed with the use of WebKit maybe. Not sure if this issue exists on Windows but I know it exists on Mac.
I hope this gets fixed. I have the same issue and had to update a client solution to remove webviewers and use OpenURL, but this does not completely solve the issue. On the protected site, the URLs can be navigated programmatically with buttons in FM which was the main use of the WV for a number of clients since FM12. Since upgrading to FM16 it has been an issue that none of them are happy with. A couple of clients went back to an earlier version to avoid this problem and restore a good workflow for employees.
The information from "bigtom" is correct. This is a design limitation with the latest WebKit on Mac. The issue occurs on both macOS and iOS, although under iOS, there is some caching for four or five records. When more information becomes available, I will post again.
In that case, can you also help me confirm if this issues persist for the new FileMaker 17 version. I do not want to waste my time to upgrade to it if it still persist. Thanks
From my testing the situation is the same in FM17.
Yup my colleague download the FM 17 client and tried just now. Appear to not be working for WebViewer. I guess they have not figured out a way to maintain login session for all WebViewer content. This is very bad news for integration work.
I can confirm this issue was not addressed in FileMaker Pro 17 Advanced.
