"Changed and removed features"
The zoom control area, which included the zoom controls, status toolbar control, and Mode pop-up menu, has been removed from the bottom left of the document window.
• To zoom in or out, use the View menu, keyboard shortcuts, or the Set Zoom Level script step. See Setting the zoom level.
• To show or hide the status toolbar or switch modes, use the View menu, keyboard shortcuts, or a script step. See Show/Hide Toolbars script step or Windows script steps.

Thanks Beverly for the prompt response.
Seems like these buttons have been incorporated in FMP since before time began. And since they're so fundamental I didn't think they'd be removed. Alas.
flashback? hold-over from ClarisWorks (AppleWorks) when there was an "integrated" database?
I agree with you a bit. It is different than it used to be, and I am constantly getting tripped up on going to the bottom left of the window to zoom in or out. It makes a small break in my work, for the time being.
But I look at it like the last vestiges of an old UI, as Bev points out. Remember when they did away with the rolodex-kind of thing on the left side. That whole side left toolbar got removed. It wasn't pretty, so I'm glad for it. I wasn't around on these forums back then, but I suspect many people weren't sad do see that rolodex thing go away
I'm glad my client's files look more and more like custom apps. People have to learn something new, but I'm sure everyone we'll get it. We'll adapt.
Wait! What? The roll-o-dex is gone?! LOL

As is the bottom "UI border" where the zooms were kept onscreen
