One of our users accidentally deleted a file in FM-15. We can see the information in other screens, but not that screen for the file. Thoughts?
deleted a file or deleted records inside of a file?
how is your hosting setup?
What is your backup plan?
Morning Mike. We have FM on its own server and backup the file every night.
Then why not restore any accidentally deleted information from the backup?
Let me give it a shot. What I had read was that once a file has been deleted, it is deleted for good.
Are you talking about container data? Record data?
If you are hosting with filemaker server, users shouldn’t have access to delete hosted files.
Record deletes do not cascade into backup files, so as long as a backup contains a deleted record you can restore it.
Make sure you are using the term “file” appropriately. That would mean a .fmp12 file, not a container field contents file from a record, or record content from within a file.
Thank you Mike. You have been most helpful. I will let you know how it goes.
Just in case , you need to recover data files back , because , the files can easy be covered by other files ,as the mobile phone data , after the data has loss or deleted from phone , user need to recover lost Android data back as soon as possible ,
