I have a custom function that takes a list and formats it for use in SQL "IN" clauses, but you don't need a custom function.
Given the list:
you can transform this to
using a fairly simple calculation formula.
Case ( not IsEmpty ( yourText ); "IN ('" & Substitute ( $yourTextVariable; [ "'"; "''" ]; [ "¶"; "',' ] ) & "')" )
The first part of the Substitute() statement doubles up any single quotes that may be present in your search criteria. The second part replaces the carriage returns that separate your list items with ','
