Your description does not match your topic title. Are you asking whether the behavior will be different if you host from FMP through peer-to-peer vs. hosting on FMS?
Seems like the issue to solve is why the file disconnects when going to the background. Does that disconnect happen right away or only after a while? Is this on Wifi or cellular data?
I'm not sure "disconnect" is the right term. The client count goes drops on wifi or cellular as soon as the app is minimized or the sleep/wake button is pressed, with app open. I get why it does that, It just seems that it stops monitoring the region for events, when it does.
Wondering if there's any way to stop it from disconnecting.
The monitoring is done by the client but the client needs the connection to the server. If that connection is killed then there really is nothing running on the client anymore.
If you want something to always run on the client you may have to consider a split model where the file actually lives on the client and gets synced to one on the server.
