I wanna have a field to save an article including both formatted texts and images, how can I achieve it?
No, there is container fields for pictures and text field for other information. You can use GetContainerAttribute to get information about your picture if you have Calculated fields

PDF the article and store the PDF?
yep, but it's read only...
Why do you want to save it into a single field?
You can certainly save it as a record with different fields for picture and text.
What I want is one record is one place, one field stores the introduction articles including texts and images, if it can be edited instead of read-only pdf, that will be better.
You can correct me if my way is wrong.
Sems that you don't need a field but a record. This can even be a single record in table A that links to a set of records in table B where each record in B is one of a set of articles if that's what you need.
How about store .doc or similar editable rich text file format in container field as internal or external reference?
If this is an article created and published from FileMaker, just keep the records in which the article was created. If other software was used to create the article, insert the file used in that other software to publish it into a container field.
If you use the store a reference option, you can have Filemaker open the file with the other application and changes made can be saved back into the copy referenced in the container. If you do not use "by reference", you would need to reinsert the file after editing it. The re-insert could be set up so that a single button click re-inserts the file.
