Are you using word for mac, or pages to open up a .doc file? Is it .doc or the newer .docx format?
You may want to open the "template" file that scribe merges data into and make sure that on a mac it appears correct before the data is merged into place.
ah, good points...I have a MS Office subscription, so I just downloaded my office applications to the mac and everything seemed to work fine until I used it in scribe/fm. I am using .docx format.
Using .docx with word for mac is preferred. I would be more suspicious if you were either using .doc or pages as your reader.
Still, check the template to see how it looks. If it looks normal on the mac it could be an encoding issue. Try saving a copy of it from word for mac and replacing the container field contents for the template. Then see if that works.
If it does, then you may want to keep separate records for the “mac” and “windows” versions of the template files.
You can do system detection to use a different template depending on the OS.
thank you...I will try that now and let you know....many thanks
I had rebooted my system and then everything worked as it should have....
I think the source of my problem may have been I downloaded the newer plugin (I am still running FM15) but then had replaced it with the older version and I have not rebooted yet...Everything seems fine now...
thanks for your help
