I have a problem with the new cards...
I have a button in a row of a portal that opens a card with this record.
Now the problem is that the record is still locked from the other layout, a bug? a workaround?
Do you first enter information in the portal row? In the script that opens up the Card Window, make a Commit Record first before you open up the new window
Thanks for your answer!
Do nothing entered to that related record.
I can't make a commit record, because then it loses the focus to that related 'portal' record.
You could have the button on the portal capture the PK of the record in a variable, then commit record, then open the card window and do a find for that PK.
You could always use a Popover to show data from a portal row
This may be a case where a popover is better. The card is a separate window, so if you don't wish to release focus, then you will have that issue in the card window. A popover, on the other hand, is just and additional piece of real estate within the same window, so will not present this problem.

As the answers indicate; this is not a bug, it's the same behavior as you'd get with any other "new window".
To overcome the focus issue: you can record the portal row number, commit, then go back to the portal row but now with no open record, then open the card window. Visually for the user it would be no different. Just a little more work for you.
