The Get ( DocumentsPathListing ) will return a full list of files in FileMaker Go.
If you need the user to select a file then you can present this in a portal or something for then to choose from..

I agree, parse out the file names, put them in a field that feeds a value list, in a popup menu and put the results back into a field, then use the field value to identify the file in the default directory for FMGo and do whatever imports or other actions are required.
I still wish we could use a more elegant, standard iOS file picker.

There is a file picker built into FM16 and it works with FMGo16. The Insert File Script step will display a file picker. The destination can be a variable. Then you can use GetAsText($variable) to get the filename.
