    How would you build a document management system to store files "off server" (i.e. on NAS)?


      The requirements are simple: Hosted on FMS on Mac OSX, storing files (containers or web viewers with container functionality) in network locations requiring user authentication by users running FMP.


      An example would be that I drag a file into a field on my FMP application and the file is renamed and stored on the network location specified in another field. If I am not authenticated to the network location, I should be prompted to do so.


      I'm open to all ideas, including plugins, except the idea of storing my files on the FMS.
