Is there a possibilty to send data from a field to the remote desktop server without sync.?
Use the XML API, it's basically just one URL to construct, that way you don't even need a file reference to the hosted file.
It is no problem to connect to the database and open it, but if I create a Variable on the iPad like $customernr. "1000"
and i open de remote database, set a field customernr. with the variable "1000", variable is gone.
So is there an other way to it?
Variables have a particular scope (read this for more info: All Variables Should Be Global... Or Not. - Soliant Consulting)
So one file does not know what variables exist in another file or one script does not know what variables exist in the running of another script.
If you already have a file reference and can run the script in the other file, simply pass the variable along as a script parameter, in the other script set the script parameter back to a variable.
Or use the XML API as I mentioned and skip setting up a file reference to the hosted file to run the script.
This type of communication is great for synchronizing databases since it eliminates the need to have TOs.
The data sent can be quite complex. Blobs were used in 4D and I created complex techniques and flags within the blob to indicate table, records, etc.
Photographs can be transmitted as text if you use the function to convert the photo to text.
One simple method is Perform Script (in File) (Scriptname; parameters)
In the target file the
In other words your script must capture the script parameter and put it into a variable you designate. The variable just doesn't appear out of thin air.
