Is there a way from the parent window on filemaker go, to tell if a card window is opened? I want to be able to hide certain buttons/graphics on the parent window when the card window is opened and the parent window is dimmed. when user clicks on the dimmed parent window, the card window closes and the graphics should re-appear?

If Card window is open, you are in that Window and not in the parent window, so you would know that you are in Card window.

You can not change things in another window (for example parent window) by another window, but you can do a trick that you in your script to open up a Card Window sets a Global Variable ($$YourVariableName) to a certain value and then use Hide Object when and see if your ($$YourVariableName have the value to hide objects. Then make sure to clear your variable when you close your Card Window

Also if you want to test if the window your in is a card window then the Get( WindowStyle )function will return a 3 if the active window is a card window.

Wont work from the parent window, as this will return a 1, but will for hiding/showing objects in the card window. Johan's method is the way to go for the parent window, but this may help if you need to distinguish between the two.
