JSONSetElement sometimes only works with unstored formulas

Sometimes JSONSetElement used in a calculation field does not evaluate and simply returns a ? If the field is changed to be an unstored calculation the correct Json value is returned. This happens even for the easiest formulas that do not even contain other fields (see screenshot). If the same formula is used in the data viewer it works without a problem.


The problem seems to be related with the updates of records. If the value of a field used in the calculation is changed in browse mode, the calculation is evaluated correctly. As soon as the calculation of the field is changed in any way, again I get a ?
