Set Variable [ $id ; parent::primarykey ]
go to layout [ child ]
set field [ child::foreignkey ; $id ]
go to layout [ original layout ]
Well that is easier! I assume you're using 'magic key' with timestamp field?

Learned it from Ray Cologons demos a long while back.
It relies on the fact that you can set values in fields that do not conform to the specified data types to form temporary relationships.
The benefit is that you don't need to change context to create children records.
Never have to worry about triggers on other layouts.
The main detraction is that it requires extra TO's and calc fields.
Just Plain Simply Magical !!
