I did also download the update file from Software Update: FileMaker Pro 16.0.2 and FileMaker Pro Advanced 16.0.2 | FileMaker
It then says that I do not have any FMP16v1 installed, meaning the update of FMP16 to v2 most have worked, but somehow it did not go through the whole process so that it is completely installed.
I had the same issue with the download from the FileMaker Website, I re-installed FileMaker Pro Adv 16 but still the same issue. When I used the in app 'Check for Updates...' that showed there was an update and the update was applied successfully.
Thank you for your post.
Another customer ran into a similar issue. The cause was a preview/ETS build of FileMaker Pro residing on the hard disk along with FileMaker Pro 16.0.1. If this is the case, remove the ETS build as well as FileMaker Pro 16.0.1, and then either install FileMaker Pro 16.0.1 and apply the update, or download and install FileMaker Pro 16.0.2 from your original email.
Currently do not have any ETS software on my Mac, so that is not my problem
Thank you for the information.
Since our testers and I cannot reproduce the issue, we would like to get more information about your system (besides being Swedish).
Is FileMaker Pro 16.0.1 installed in another folder besides the default [Hard Disk] -> Applications?
What is the hard disk name?
What version of Mac operating system is installed?
Any other information you can provide may be helpful in narrowing down the cause.
I can show FMI people at devCon next week
What is going on with this?
I have FileMaker Pro advanced 16 on 2 machines and both have failed to install properly. On my main machine I had to set up a new user and import everything across.
I am holding off on doing that on my secondary machine because it is not routinely backed up so I cannot easily migrate.
I have been in contact with support over some time but they seem to know nothing of this issue - given it happened on my 2 machines with different set ups I cannot believe this is not a widespread issue.
Everything about apple and its subsidiaries is becoming more like Microsoft every day.
Try this: 1) Stop FileMaker Pro (All copies) if running
2) Remove additional FileMaker folders/ and files
User Library > Application Support > Anything with the word FileMaker
User Library > Caches > Anything with the word FileMaker
User Library > Saved Application State > Anything with the word FileMaker
3)Start FMP > Test
EDIT: THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM
I showed FMI at DevCon and they had not seen that problem before and have not send it to Dev Department
