FMP 16.0.2 is available and I expected the auto update to give me some sort of prompt but it did not. So I manually did Check for Updates and I got a message that no update was needed when running 16.0.1. Is this supposed to be working?
happened here as well. I had an older version installed than the updater ecpected - installed 16.01 new, then it worked. Strange anyways
(Installer wants 16.01.156 or so)
Well that is a FAIL.
Worked with FMP but not FMPA. I will have to sort it out later.
Same happened here with FMPA - no automatic update. So I went to the website and downloaded the new release and manually installed it - all worked.
Even if I download the updated and run manually it will not update FMPA. I guess I need to install the full new version. It is bad as I am not sure if my recents and presets will be stored.
Are you running Mac or Windows operating system?
Is FileMaker Pro 16.0.1 installed in the default location (e.g., Applications folder on Mac, Program Files on Windows)?
Any security or anti-virus software running?
Any other information you can provide about your computing environment may be helpful.
FYI - I'm using Windows 32 bit version.
I did that - the first time, it did not update, the second time was fine... (I got only advanced versions on my Mac's)
I had the same thing to happen to me. I though I had uninstalled the Preview version and installed the full version, I had not. The Preview version (FDS) will not update.
TSGal I have FMP (FLT) and FMPA installed on the same machine. Maybe this is causing only one to update during a manual download update and not the other. I figured the menu update item should work, but maybe that was not supposed to work since it seems to be an issue with more than just me.
Default install location
When I select run the updater it says there is no version 16.0.1 found. When I select FMPA manually in the downloaded updater it says the application selected is not valid. I guess a full reinstall is needed for the latest version.
It's ironic to say the least...
The updater is only looking for FileMaker Pro (Advanced) 18.104.22.168, which is the release version. If you have an older version, then the update will not see it and give you the message that 16.0.1 cannot be found. If you haven't yet updated, can you check the version under About FileMaker Pro...?
ok... but then, it would be important that the updater mentions the full version number - all versions are 16.01..
The only release version is 22.214.171.124. Any other version number would be a pre-release version.
